Competition at Kondor Wessels Amsterdam

Little builders,
big dreams

At Kondor Wessels Amsterdam, the kids join in too — building imaginative creations of their own.

For the children of Kondor Wessels Amsterdam employees, we organised a creative Lego competition — a cheerful initiative where imagination and the joy of building took center stage. Because why should grown-ups have all the fun?

To help the young participants get started (and because we’re big Lego fans ourselves), we built a Lego model of the iconic Wonderwoods complex. This remarkable project is currently being developed by Kondor Wessels Amsterdam — and took pride of place on the competition poster, bold and full of colour.

Fantastic entries

The callout sparked an amazing response. Photos, handwritten notes, homemade videos with voiceovers — the entries blew us away. From towering fantasy buildings to full-on scale models with backstories. The creativity was heartwarming, not just from the kids, but also from parents and colleagues.

The jury had a tough job

Together with an enthusiastic jury — including several Kondor Wessels Amsterdam staff members and director Frank Aalders — we reviewed all submissions. And it wasn’t easy; the quality was seriously impressive. In the end, three winners were chosen, but honestly, every participant deserved a prize.

Building connection, together

For us, this was a great initiative that added something fun and meaningful to the company culture. A moment to be proud of — as a team, and with family.
Or as one jury member put it: “The future of construction looks like it’s in very good hands.”

“The future of construction is already in good hands.”
